Weekly Classes and Tournaments
KIDS’ CLASS | Bring the kids so that they can learn the basics in a fun and funny style. Appropriate for kids aged 5+. Free for members. |
ADULT | An introduction to the rules of the game and basic tactical thinking, aimed at adults. Come to learn, and stay to play other people who are just starting out. Chess is easier than you think! Free for members. |
INTERMEDIATE |
Once you know the rules and have a few games under your belt, you’ll start to appreciate the strategic aspects of the game. This class will help you get your game to the next level. Chess is harder than you think! Free for members.

MONTHLY | Want to play in a Swiss-paired tournament, but don’t have the time? Try the knights series, which starts on the first Wednesday of each month. Each Wednesday, play one G/90 game. Prizes are awarded at end of the month. Entry fee $10.

LADIES | Due to popular request, the Chess Club is now offering a special beginner class for women only! Come learn the basics of the game or fine-tune your technique! Free for members.

FRIDAY | Our most popular weekly event. Play three quick-rated games in one night, all against people close to your own skill level. Recommended for experienced and new players alike. Register by 6:55pm. Entry fee $10.

IMPROVE YOUR | Every non-tournament Saturday, CM Alex Marler will walk you through a new topic to improve your game. Designed for ages 11 and up, this class will offer great tips and instruction on how to improve your skills and take your game to the next level. Free for members.

LADDER DAY | Every non-tournament Saturday, the Chess Club is encouraging members to come out for a day full of ladder games! We’ll give away prizes each week including $50 in gift cards to the Chess Club. Come out for FREE rated games with a time control of your choosing! |
